Anglo Connection is a family run organisation located in the south-west of England. For over 25 years they have been organising educational courses in England for Spanish students.

Their approach is deeply personal — it’s not just about learning English, but about joining a family abroad. The goal of the redesign was to reflect that same sense of care and connection online.

The new site features a clean, welcoming design, intuitive navigation, and friendly copy that highlights their family ethos. I stuck with the colours from their logo, used approachable typography, and authentic photography to help convey the feeling of safety, warmth, and opportunity.

Their previous website was built using WordPress, my recommended platform. However it was using the Divi page builder plugin and the clients were finding it hard to update and maintain the website themselves. Divi is a very popular page builder but, in my opinion, not terribly intuitive for non-technical users. I think there’s a steep-learning curve with it and most of my clients don’t have the time to spend learning how to use it. They just want to be able to make short, quick updates when information, such as pricing changes.

The site is also available in two languages: English and Spanish. Links at the top of each page allow the user to switch between them. This inevitably means that every update or changes needs to be done on both the English and Spanish version, something that wasn’t being done, partly because the difficulty is using Divi.

So my first step was to install my preferred page builder plugin: Kadence. Kadence is much more user-friendly and has a free-version with plenty of features, so the client doesn’t have to sign up for a monthly or annual subscription as they would with Divi, unless they need some of the more advanced features. I also prepared some instruction sheets for the client, to which they could refer when they wanted to update the site themselves.

From summer camps to boarding school placements and guardianship services, every page was designed to make it easy for parents and students to explore programs and feel supported.
