Book me for a day to update, fix, and improve your WordPress website

Website TLC Day

One focused day of hands-on website care, fixes and improvements — without the need for a full redesign.

Your website works hard for your business, but it’s easy for small issues, outdated content and half-finished tweaks to pile up. A Website TLC Day is a WordPress website maintenance service that gives your site the attention it’s been needing, all in one dedicated day.

This is a practical, straight-forward service for business owners who want their website to feel up to date, reliable and working properly again.

Cozy workspace with a laptop, books, and plants, promoting a relaxed, creative atmosphere.

What is a Website TLC Day?

A focussed WordPress website maintenance service

A Website TLC Day is exactly what it sounds like:
you book me for a full day, and I focus entirely on your website.

We use the day to tackle your priority list – whether that’s maintenance, updates, improvements or things you’ve been meaning to fix for months but never quite get round to.

To-do list illustrating a client's to-do list for wordpress website maintenance services known as a Website TLC Day.

A Website TLC Day is for you if you:

  • Feel like your website is mostly fine but needs some attention
  • Have a list of tweaks, fixes or updates that keep getting postponed
  • Want improvements without committing to a full redesign
  • Would rather hand things over to a professional for the day
  • Want clarity, momentum and visible progress

What we can work on during the day

Every Website TLC Day is shaped around your needs, but common tasks include:

  • Content updates (text, images, pages)
  • Design and layout tweaks
  • Fixing broken links or layout issues
  • Improving usability and clarity
  • Performance and housekeeping tasks
  • Plugin, theme and CMS updates
  • Mobile and browser checks
  • Light SEO
  • Create a landing page
  • Set up a email marketing system
  • Tidying up areas that feel messy or outdated

To keep the day focused and realistic, a Website TLC Day does not include:

  • Full website redesigns
  • Large feature builds or custom development
  • Ongoing SEO campaigns or marketing strategy
  • Copywriting from scratch for large sections of the site

If you need something bigger, then you might prefer my Website in a Week package or I’ll happily point you towards a more suitable option.

If something isn’t the right fit for a TLC Day, I’ll always be honest and let you know in advance.

How a Website TLC Day works

Choose a date that suits you. Once booked, that day is reserved solely for your website. It should be a day when you know you will be available to answer any questions I may have, or to provide me with feedback. Make sure you allow enough time before the day to complete your prep work e.g. writing copy.

You will be asked to pay a 50% deposit to secure the date in my calendar.

Before the day, you’ll send over a list of everything you’d like help with. I’ll review it and flag anything that needs adjusting. We’ll have a call or face to face meeting to decide what the priorities are.

I work through your priorities, focusing on the most valuable improvements first and giving you a call or sending a message if I have any questions. I work quickly and will get as much done as I can.

At the end of the day, you’ll receive a summary of what’s been done and any recommendations for next steps.

I’m also on hand for the next 7 days via email, if you have any questions about what I’ve done on your Website TLC Day.

How much does a Website TLC Day cost?

Once you have booked your TLC day, you will receive an invoice for a 50% deposit. This will need paying immediately in order to secure your date. The remaining 50% will be due the day before the Website TLC Day. You will also be sent an agreement which you will need to read and sign.

£240

This includes:

  • 6 hours dedicated to just you and your website
  • Prep and review beforehand
  • Clear communication and post-day summary
  • One week of post-session email support

Ready to give your website some TLC?

If your WordPress website needs some care, attention and a bit of breathing space — without turning into a big project — a Website TLC Day could be exactly what you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

More than you might think — especially when there’s a clear plan.

Before your TLC Day, you’ll share a list of what you’d like help with and I’ll help you prioritise it so we’re realistic about what can be achieved. We’ll focus on the most useful, high-impact tasks first and I’ll always let you know if something is likely to take longer than the time allows.

The most important items will always be tackled first, so you’ll still see meaningful progress. If there are things left over, I’ll explain your options — whether that’s booking another TLC Day or spacing the work out.

You will need to be reachable in case I need a quick decision or clarification.

Not quite — and that’s the point.

A Website TLC Day is about care, fixes and improvements, not starting again from scratch. I work within school hours and that’s not enough time to build a decent website. This service is ideal if your website already exists and works, but needs some attention, tidying up or updating.

Availability is limited so I can give each TLC Day proper focus.

Booking a few weeks ahead is a good idea as it gives you plenty of time to prep anything that might need your attention first.

Yes, if your website needs some attention, but your to-do list isn’t long enough to fill a whole day, you can book me for a half day (3 hours).

This isn’t an SEO campaign or long-term strategy.

That said, I can help with SEO-friendly housekeeping, such as fixing broken links, improving page structure, and making sure your content is clear and well organised. If you need specialist SEO support, we should have a chat first about other ways I can help in this regard.

Website TLC Days are designed primarily for WordPress websites, which is where I have the most experience.

I can also help with simple content updates in Squarespace, depending on what’s needed. Unfortunately, this service isn’t suitable for platforms I don’t work with regularly, such as Webflow. If you’re unsure, just ask before booking.

I’ll guide you through everything, but in short you’ll need to:

  • provide admin access to your website (and hosting if needed)
  • send over your list of priorities
  • let me know about any deadlines or must-do tasks

I keep the prep simple so the day itself runs smoothly.

At the end of the day, you’ll receive a clear summary of:

  • what’s been completed
  • anything that’s still outstanding
  • any recommendations for next steps (if relevant)

There’s no pressure to continue — though many clients choose to book another TLC Day later on when things need attention again.

That’s absolutely fine.

If you’re unsure whether a Website TLC Day is the best fit, feel free to get in touch. I’ll happily talk it through with you and let you know honestly if another option would suit you better.
